01_Sainte Anne Group's story

This banc villageois was created in June 2002, and comprises six women who live in the same neighbourhood. They have repaid more than 20 loans on the due date. Their main activity is trade.

Rose, 45 years old, is the representative, on the right in the photo with her hand raised. She is single and the mother of three boys, one of whom is still at school while the other two work. She runs a small fresh fish business, buying her supplies from the fishing docks in the area and reselling in her neighbourhood, both at home and to order.

She has more than 25 years' experience in this sector and has had good success with her sales. She will buy 10 crates of fresh fish and pay for the transportation. She manages to sell her products without any difficulties because she has a good customer base. With her profits she will support her children and save money with the banc villageois.
