A loan helped to buy chickens for her poultry farm.

01_Mbodokhane Group's story

This group of seven women was formed out of the Banc Villageois which was founded in in May, 2013. They are courageous, they live in the same village, and they maintain good relations based on family, neighborliness, and solidarity. Their primary activity is business. They have successfully repaid several loans.

Madame Sokhna, who is 58 years old, is the group's representative. She is standing on the left in the photo with her hand raised. She is married and the mother of five children, including three boys and two girls, all of whom are in school.

Madame Sokhna is involved in poultry farming. She buys her chickens in the weekly markets and raises them at home, where she has a henhouse. She has 8 years of good experience in this field.

With the loan proceeds she plans to buy 250 chickens, 10 sacks of feed (some for starting off, some for raising, and some for finishing), as well as pay for vaccines and transportation. Her business is doing well because she has been successful in selling her products.

Her profits enable her to increase her savings and take care of her needs and those of her children.
