Murtala's story

Murtala is 26 years of age and married with two children. He lives in a rural town in Bauchi, Nigeria, a small community where maize farming is the major occupation and means of livelihood. Due to a lack of access to quality seed, it has become difficult for farmers to achieve the high yields needed to make a good income.

Murtala is requesting a loan to buy high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs for his maize farm. Murtala wants to double last year's yield so that he can attract more customers and thereby increase his revenue.

At the end of the season, Murtala plans to use the profits he earns from his harvest to pay his children's school fees and enhance their standard of living.

Murtala looks forward to living in an improved house and to many more abundant harvests.
