Lucciola Laurentina's story

Lucciola Laurentina and her family live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the April 16, 2016 earthquake and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Lucciola Laurentina is a tailor and sews uniforms which the government contracts her to deliver to students in the primary and secondary schools in the state. She also does work for individuals who come to ask her for her services.

At first the social distancing left her without work due to the fear of the disease, and various restrictions which prevented students from attending in-person classes, so that her income has dropped considerably. But, currently, she is working, with the biosafety protocols.

This loan is to purchase a variety of types and qualities of fabric, zippers, elastic, etc. Her dreams are to have a factory to provide jobs to more people, and that her family is very healthy.
