Mariuxi Jahaira's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy quintals of rice, oil, tuna, salt, lard, toilet paper, etc.

Mariuxi Jahaira's story

Mariuxi Jahaira and her family live in Portoviejo, a city that was affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016 and now by the Covid-19 pandemic. The city has a rich production of vegetables, legumes and tropical fruits for internal consumption.

Mariuxi Jahaira has a small grocery store at home where she sells high consumption items such as colas, water, rice, tuna, noodles, dairy products, and other goods. She works every day and also makes snack foods for home delivery. Her husband helps her and customers order via internet or Whatsapp.

Her husband was the only one who fell ill to Covid-19 and he is now recovered. At first the social isolation kept them from working for fear of contagion and the restrictions kept them from selling but now she is working following bio safety protocols. This loan is to buy quintals of rice, oil, tunas, salt, lard, toilet paper, etc. Her dream is to have a larger store and for her family to be healthy.
