Las Boganvilis Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy new products to sell, including bedspreads, sheets, pots, and pans.

Las Boganvilis Group's story

Gladys is 27 years old and lives with her parents, who she helps to support. To forge a better future for herself and her parents, she started two businesses a few years ago selling chicken meat and personal products by catalog. Gladys planned very well and saved money to open another two businesses selling bedding and aluminum tableware. She has requested her third Kiva loan in order to help her buy new products for her business, including bedspreads, sheets, pots, and pans.

The 10 female entrepreneurs of the Community Bank of Friendship Bridge "Las Boganvilis" have on average two years of education. They all live in a rural area one hour away from the Department (state) of Suchitepéquez. They all very much want to invest in their small businesses which include general stores, bedding sales and chicken and pork sales.

Gladys and 32,000 other low-income Guatemalan women participate in Puente de Amistad's "Microcredit Plus" program that includes loans, education and healthcare components. They participate in monthly meetings where they attend trainings that cover topics on health, nutrition, hygiene, and entrepreneurship. In Gladys's words "the new ideas we receive help us to improve business!"

Thank you Kiva lenders for your support!
