but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped an immigrant woman face the crisis that has caused the pandemic.

Raysa's story

When I was a child, I loved accessories and the color red, I always looked for very specific accessories that I imagined, but I never found them. Although I was a social worker by profession, I took classes to learn how to make my own accessories and would give them to my friends. In 2017, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. From that moment, we started spending a lot of time in a hospital in NYC. Creating accessories became my therapy for those endless nights. Motivated by the medical staff, I installed my mini jewelry factory in the cancer pavilion. It was this same medical staff who began to buy the first Rouge Hoops that were made. Progressively, we diversified our models by incorporating recycled materials, pearls and natural stones. Today we manufacture unique accessories, totally handmade, of excellent quality, all inspired by the colors of our land. Each month, I volunteer to offer training on how to make jewelry for cancer patients in a hospital in NYC. With this activity we seek to improve mental health and skills, to women living with cancer in Bronx County, New York.
