A loan helped to buy a pig and feed.

Jeanne Aimée's story

Jeanne Aimée is a widow. She is 43 years old and has six children, four of whom are already independent. She lives in her native village with two of her children. On a daily basis, she is involved in livestock breeding and farming. These activities are her sources of income. She has been raising pigs for about 20 years. She fattens and sells the pigs.

She started to take loans when she joined Vahatra. Her first loan was to cover her children's school fees. She has finished her repayments and wants to take this new loan. She is going to buy a pig to fatten and feed to consolidate its diet. She relies on Kiva lenders. She will sell the pig to the butcher's shop, hoping for enough profit. She wants to rehabilitate their house, which is still made of mud, when she has gathered enough savings.
