Maria Cristina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy shortening, rice, sugar, salt, toilet paper, cold cuts, colas, waters, etc. for her grocery store.

Maria Cristina's story

Maria Cristina and her family live in Tosagua. It is a productive town, where cacao, coffee, bananas and corn are grown, among other things; and cattle, barnyard birds and pigs are raised. It has a gastronomy which is well-known in the area. Its most famous dish is chame [a local fish], served fried or grilled.

Maria Cristina has a small grocery store in her house, which she started with a great deal of effort. Every day she sells a variety of products, such as detergents, oils, tuna, eggs, cold cuts, some legumes, snacks, etc. Her husband helps her tend to her customers.

In her family her mother and a sister got sick with Covid-19 but have now recovered. At the beginning of the quarantine Maria Cristina wasn't working because of a fear of contagion. Also, various restrictions prohibited her from going out to sell, but currently she is operating and following the health protocols.

This loan is to buy shortening, rice, sugar, salt, toilet paper, cold cuts, colas, waters, etc. Maria Cristina's dream is to have a bigger store, and that her family enjoy great health.
