Hermano Pedro Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to increase the inventory of the business so she will be able to cover the orders that the customers request.

Hermano Pedro Group's story

In the Western Highlands of Guatemala is the State / Department of Chimaltenango. This is one of the closest places to Guatemala City and has a lot of commercial activity.

This place is where Lidia, 39 years old, takes advantage of this to market her natural products. She studied three grades at school and can get by working in different houses doing housework. She has been separated from her husband for 14 years, and with much effort, has provided better living conditions for three children, aged 14, 16 and 20 years.

Lidia is applying for the fourth loan to buy more products such as food supplements and shakes. She is sure that by increasing the inventory of the business, she will be able to cover the orders that the customers request.

Seven women are members of the “Hermano Pedro” Friendship Bridge Community Bank. Sixty percent of the women make and sell food, while 40% have other businesses such as raising chickens and pigs, and natural medicine.

These women benefit from the Puente de Amistad Microcredit Plus Program. It combines small loans to help women to increase business capital, in addition to monthly trainings where women motivate, rejoice and learn financial issues and receive medical care. This helps women make better decisions and be empowered to build a whole life for their families.

Thank you, Kiva lenders, for the helping hand extended to women who want to weave a better future.
