Emprendedoras De Morazan Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase sheets in new designs to offer variety to her clientele.

Emprendedoras De Morazan Group's story

Marlyn is a 23-year-old woman with nine years of formal education. She is a talented trader who has been offering quality product such as bedding (sheets, covers) for 2 years. To earn an additional income, Marlyn also sells cleaning and personal use products through a catalog. She became a widow three months ago and with this business she wants to continue raising her 2-year-old son. Marlyn takes her first loan from Kiva to purchase sheets in new designs to offer variety to her clientele.

Marlyn and her friends from the Puente de Amistad Community Bank “Emprendedoras de Morazan” live in the Department / State of Suchitepéquez. They have small businesses such as selling chicken by the pound, raising pigs, selling clothes and products for personal use through catalogs. These women greatly benefit from monthly educational trainings when they learn about effective business practices, and how to better care for themselves and their families. Topics such as good nutrition, good hygiene, use of medicinal plants are of importance to them. These issues are very important and relevant to their health. Every two months, women have access to medical care. Friendship Bridge calls the combination of loans, education and health services "Microcredit Plus".

Thank you Kiva Lenders for being a part of these women's development!
