Martha's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 30-year-old Martha from Aberdeen branch. She is married with two children between the ages of 7 and 10 years old and both of them are attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

Martha runs a retail business and sells drinks and other assorted items. She has been in this business for 2 years now. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is occasional slow sales during this COVID 19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase drinks and other assorted items to increase her business. Martha says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business so she can take care of her family's welfare.

In the future, she would like to establish in to a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
