Dr Daphne's story
I am the Founder and CEO of Touching Heart Home Care, Inc. located in Pittsburgh, PA. My chief responsibilities include overseeing the fiscal, clinical and operational components of the business. My agency was developed and incorporated in 2019. Born in New York City, I was taught by my parents to treat people as you want to be treated, which greatly motivated my Christian faith to serve, respect, and develop trusting relationships with the senior population in the community where I was raised. I attended several colleges and universities to acquire multiple degrees; including a doctorate degree in public health from Walden University, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a master’s degree in Guidance & Counseling from Long Island University; a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of New Rochelle, and an associate degree in applied arts from NYC Technical College. For over 28 years, I have worked in the fields of both public and behavioral health in not-for-profit management and outpatient ambulatory health services settings overseeing HIV Testing programs, HIV transitional housing program for adults 18 and over, and supportive housing program for seniors 55 and older, HIV case management services, and HIV clinical care. I also spent two years coordinating home care services to many of these individuals living with HIV/AIDS and other morbidities. It is my passion to take good care of my own elder family members and I would like to continue to help others in this way. My mission is to ensure that persons that are seniors, sick, or shut-in are well supported for them to take charge of their life decisions and live independently in their own homes.
