Koko's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to re-innovate his salon and buy supplies.

Koko's story

Koko is a refugee, but more than that, he is also a business owner. He has a proven track record of success. Since he opened his beauty salon business, it has gained a good reputation in the camp and has a strong base of loyal customers.

It all started in 1999 when Koko fled the violence in Congo that was due to political instability. Koko decided not to re-settle in the refugee camp in Rwanda. Instead he moved to the city and invested in a beauty salon business to provide for his family.

After participating in AEC’s business training program focused on improving financial management and increasing sales, Koko requested a loan to grow his business even more. This loan will help Koko to re-innovate his salon and buy supplies, offering his community more options and giving him the opportunity to build a better life through the growth of his business.
