Tanguy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to build out a new section of his restaurant.

Tanguy's story

From a waiter to a restaurant owner, Tanguy has become one of the most promising refugee entrepreneurs that African entrepreneur Collective has worked with. Tanguy is initially from Burundi but he came to Rwanda in 2015 due to instabilities back home. His restaurant has become popular for the best lunch buffet and signature dishes in town.

The purpose of Tanguy's previous loan was to build out a new section of his restaurant, however he was unable to do this because of the Covid-19 pandemic. He used the loan to be able to pay rent and also keep paying his 22 employees. He is requesting another loan with Kiva to be able to go with his initial loan purpose of building out a new section of his restaurant. Life is slowly going back to normal and people working in nearby offices usually go for lunch at the restaurant. He wants to be able to accommodate the increasing number of customers.
