Jadillas Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a large quantity of thread at the wholesale level.

Jadillas Group's story

Jacinta, a single 23 year old mother with a 7 year old daughter, has been trained as a vocational nurse. However, she prefers to work with her sisters and 2 employees weaving and embroidering sheets, bedspreads, and baby carriers.

They sell both inside and outside of their community in the department/state of Quiche. Jacinta uses part of her income to support her daughter’s educational studies. She is in the 1st grade and only attends school once each week. The rest of the time, she participates in online classes. Jacinta is requesting her 3rd Kiva loan to buy a large quantity of thread at the wholesale level.

Jadillas Group is the name of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank formed by Jacinta and 6 of her Maya K’iche friends.

These women raise chickens and pigs, sew bed coverings and weave and embroider traditional blouses. They look forward to their monthly meetings when they participate in essential educational training sessions covering business, family, women and health.

Often they share what they learn with family and friends. Every 2 months, a visiting nurse, who speaks their Maya K’iche language, visits and offers all kinds of basic services and consults. This vital combination of loans, education and health care is called Microcredit Plus.

Thank you, Kiva investors, for your kindness in funding these much appreciated loans!
