A loan helped to buy seeds for her garden.

Benkanto Fadiga Group's story

Mme Nene is an educated woman. Very experienced in this field, she is the president of the Benkanto group, which is made up of five members. She is a married woman, aged 32. She has three dependent children between 4 and 11 years old, and they are all in school.

Mme Nene requests this loan to enhance her market garden perimeter by purchases from nurseries, phytosanitary products, seeds, and fertilizers. This business is very profitable in the Kédougou area given the isolation of the region from large cities. She sells the totality of her harvest at the central market and in the mining regions where the price doubles due to the rarity of the products. This permits her to realize a lot of profit and to repay without difficulty.

The profit from the business permits her to give a lot of support to her family (food, school fees, health...). However, certain problems are noted (acquiring water in the dry season...). She nonetheless realizes a daily profit that helps to support generally her children and her family's vital needs: food, health, school fees, among others. Mme Nene has been active in this business for about 12 years and wants to grow her market garden perimeter in the years to come.
