The main source of income for the business comes from planting and harvesting rice and corn for sale. Ruena has been engaged in farming for more than eight years. She recently started growing hogs for fattening and sale. She hopes for this new venture to grow as well. Ruena joined CEVI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Ruena has successfully repaid a previous loan from CEVI. Ruena is requesting a new loan of 8,000 Philippine pesos, which will be used to purchase fertilizers, such as manure, and additional piglets. This will be the second loan taken out by Ruena from CEVI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement the family's income.
