Lu'isa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for labor to harvest her kava and vanilla and to pay for exporting it overseas.

Lu'isa's story

Lu'isa and her husband still manage their plantation well. They have been running their business for 20 years. They have four grown children who all have their own lives, and their two eldest sons help them with the business.

Lu'isa and her husband grow kava (for Tongan beer) and vanilla on their plantation. Having a plantation is not easy, but it brings very good money. Through their business, they have been able to build a new, big house, buy a new vehicle and erect a fence for their safety.

Vanilla is not sold locally. Lu'isa and her husband grow it and then export it overseas. They sell their kava locally and overseas. Lu'isa applied for this loan to pay men to help harvest their kava and vanilla and to pay for exporting it to vendors.
