Andrea Gema's story

Andrea Gema and her family live in Portoviejo, a city that has been affected by the April 16, 2016 earthquake and is now being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Andrea Gema is a university student studying law. To help herself with her educational expenses, she sells a variety of clothing for women, men, and children. She also sells costume jewelry made of surgical steel.

She is selling them door to door, on the internet, and through Whatsapp. She does home deliveries. She sells on credit to her years-long customers and collects payment weekly.

In her family, she is the only one who's gotten sick from COVID-19, but she's now recovering.

The social isolation had her not working because she was afraid of getting sick and because of the various restrictions that prevented her from going out and selling. But she is now following the biosecurity protocols.

This loan is for purchasing orders of pijamas, t-shirts, jeans, dresses, chains, bracelets, rings, etc. Her dream is to finish her education and be a lawer.
