Angela Maria's story

Angela Maria and her family live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016 and now by the Covid-19 pandemic. The city is abundant in the production of vegetables, legumes and tropical fruits for domestic consumption. Angela Maria used to have a small grocery store at home, which is currently closed. Nowadays she is engaged in the sales of bed sheets and underwear for children, she does it from house to house and collects weekly.

Her mother-in-law fell sick with Covid-19 and passed away. Because of the traveling restrictions due to the pandemic and the fear of contagion that prevented her from going out to sell, she stopped working; nevertheless she is currently back to business attending the bio-security protocols. This credit is to buy pajamas, clothing for boys and girls, shorts, bed sheets and other items. Angela Maria’s dream is to open the store again and that her family does not get sick with Covid-19.
