Eliana Arcelia's story

Eliana Arcelia and her family live in Portoviejo, a city that has been very affected by the April 16, 2016 earthquake and is now being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption. Eliana Arcelia es a licensed nurse. She works for the Ministry of Health. They pay her her salary monthly.

In her free time, she also sells clothes for women, men, and children out of her house. She buys them from several distributors that give her good prices, so she makes good money.

She collects payment weekly. Her brother contracted COVID-19, but he is now recovering.

The social isolation left her without work in the beginning because she was afraid of getting sick, and also due to various restrictions that prevented her from going out and selling. But now she is following the biosecurity protocols.

This loan is for buying t-shirts, underwear, pijamas, etc. She dreams of having a store to continue selling and of good health for her family.
