Flor Azucena's story

Flor Azucena and her family live in Portoviejo, a city impacted by the April 16, 2016 earthquake and now, by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruit for local consumption.

Flor Azucena sells a variety of products both from home and door-to-door, including assorted women's, men's, and children's clothing, sandals, costume jewelry, and sheet sets. Sometimes, with cell phone orders and the type of products her customers request, she allows them to buy on credit and collects weekly. She makes her purchases in Colombia, she can find good prices.

Social distancing, a fear of contagion, and various restrictions kept her from going out to make her sales, but now she is serving her customers while adhering to health safety protocols.

This loan is to buy sandals, jeans, tank tops, underwear, makeup, etc. Her dream is to have her own shop and for her family to be in very good health.
