A loan helped to purchase more clothes patterns for making new dresses.

Catherine's story

Catherine lives in the town of Kasangati in the Kasangati region of Uganda. For the past 4 years, she has been working hard to manage her tailoring business, sewing clothes for sale.

To help expand her business, Catherine has requested a loan of 2,200,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more clothes patterns for making new dresses. This will help Catherine generate greater profits and improve her family living standards by providing them with enough food.

Catherine hopes that in the future she will be able to buy a plot of land and build a house for her family.

Catherine is a member of BRAC's Microfinance Program (MF). The program primarily serves small-group members like Catherine who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
