A loan helped to buy farming inputs to improve her horticultural farming business, which has been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rose's story

Rose is a 33-year-old farmer and mother of two children. She is a living proof that success is achieved through hard work and perseverance. She is a hardworking woman who has been very active on her mixed farm for the past five years. Through farming, she has changed her family’s fortunes.

Rose is seeking the loan to buy farming inputs to improve her horticultural farming business, which has been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva have entered into a partnership that aims at improving the lives of smallholder farmers by providing them with loans and encouraging them to save. Through this intervention, movement of funds in the rural communities has increased, thereby alleviating rural poverty. Rose hopes that Kiva lenders will support her during the tough global economic recession.
