Janes's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs to improve production and increase income to support her family.

Janes's story

Janes is a 59-year-old mother of four children living in Nakuru, a town in the highlands of Kenya that lies 1850 meters above sea level. It is a region with temperate climates that favor coffee, wheat, barley, maize, beans and potato farming. Janes has been a farmer for the past twenty years and has found it has made her life meaningful.

Janes is requesting a loan to buy farm inputs to improve her production and increase her income to support her family. She believes and is thankful that Kiva lenders will respond positively to her loan request. Thanks to the determination and commitment of Kiva lenders to make the world a better place, Janes’s life will be completely changed. Juhudi Kilimo’s partnership with Kiva is effective in reducing poverty in Kenya especially among women, who are the central actors in rural areas.
