Tabitha's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer for crop cultivation for this woman with a good credit history.

Tabitha's story

Meet Tabitha. She is a 38-year-old mother of two school going children living in Nyahururu, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also large agricultural enterprises. Tabitha is a dairy and mixed crop farmer who has been farming for the past many years.

The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is the lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, thereby guaranteeing their survival.

Tabitha is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs, which she will use to improve her production and earn more income to support her family. Support her at this time when the world is focused on combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
