A loan helped to buy farming inputs, which she plans to use to improve her horticulture crop production and make more income to support her family.

Leonidah's story

Leonidah is a 32-year old mother of three school-going children living in Eldoret, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands which favor large-scale grain farming, dairy and horticultural farming. She is a mixed farmer who has been farming for the past many years, enabling her to comfortably support her family.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is on the forefront line in combating this pandemic through supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs in this difficult period.

Leonidah is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she plans to use to improve her horticulture crop production and earn more income to support her family. She is hopeful that Kiva lenders are going to respond positively to her loan request.
