Rosemary's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more cereals and improve a widowed woman's cereal trading business that has been negatively affected by Covid-19 pandemic.

Rosemary's story

Rosemary, a first-time Kiva borrower, is a 66-year-old widowed woman living in Eldoret, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and vast agricultural enterprises.

She is a mixed farmer who has farmed for many years. Apart from farming, she is also a cereal trader.

She is seeking this loan to buy more cereals and improve her cereal trading business that has been negatively affected.

Unlike banks and other local money lenders who operate mainly in urban centres, Juhudi Kilimo, a Kiva field partner, has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities to different people to access loans.

Support Rosemary at this time when the Covid-19 pandemic has affected food systems, food security, and agricultural livelihoods.
