Ujamaa Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up with bags of flour, that will strengthen her initial capital.

Ujamaa Group's story

Georgette is a client of the Hekima microfinance institution and the head of the Ujamaa village group. She is a widow, aged 49 years and the mother of 7 children who all attend school.

She sells food items. She started this business 10 years ago with the startup funds received from her husband. Later she joined the Hekima programme to support her business. During this time, she progressively evolved. With this new loan, she will purchase stocks of bags of flour, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge of her activity is linked to the bad quality merchandise.

She would like her children to continue their studies, and to renovate her house. Finally she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they bring to business owners who do not have cash flow in the context of the global crisis due to covid-19. The photo features only the leader of the group because of covid-19 so that social distancing rules can be respected.
