Zamiri Iko Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy pagnes and sewing supplies.

Zamiri Iko Group's story

Madame Shekina is a client of microfinance institution Hekima and leads the Zamira Iko Group. She is 33 years old and has 6 children, 4 of whom attend school, and her partner is a driver. Only the group leader is shown due to social distancing measures.

Shekina is a seamstress, a business she started 2 years ago with startup funds from her husband. Later, she partnered with Hekima to support her business, and it has grown progressively since. With this new loan, she will purchase pagnes (a traditional wrap garment), and sewing supplies, which will increase her working capital. Her business's main challenge is lack of customers.

She would like for her children to continue their studies and to feed her family. Lastly, Aisha would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they give to owners of non-bankable businesses in the context of the Covid-19 crisis.
