A loan helped to build a safe latrine at home.

Khuy's story

Khuy, aged 42, is an experienced farmer from a rural village of Bakan District, Pursat Province. She's a loving mother of three children who are attending school. She is improving the family's income by cultivating rice crops and other agricultural products seasonally. Every day, she plants and supplies enough seeds and fertilizers to her rice crops and other agricultural crops by spending more than eight hours each day at the farmlands. The farming business is the main source of her family's income.

With her hard effort, Khuy can earn approximately USD 6 per day, which will have to cover expenses for daily meals, clothes, medicine, and other necessary needs.

Currently, her house doesn't have a safe latrine, so she cannot provide a sanitary latrine to her family members. She is requesting a loan to build a safe latrine at home. In this way she hopes to increase the value of her home and improve sanitation, ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family and protect the environment.

With the support of this loan, she will be able to purchase construction supplies such as bricks and cement to build a safe latrine and pay for labor costs. She believes that through her hard work and perseverance, she will be able to attain a better standard of living someday. Khuy takes a photograph with her child at Khuy's right shoulder.
