Lilian's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides for improving her crop production.

Lilian's story

Lilian is 36 years old and married to a farmer. She is the mother of a lovely family. Lilian is a rural smallholder farmer from the Kapsowar area of Kenya. Her family's main income source is selling milk from their dairy farm. However, they are also involved in other agricultural activities, such as growing corn crops.

The biggest problem that farmers from Lilian's region face is the huge deficit in terms of access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholder farmers around Kenya. With these financial services, farmers like Lilian can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs to use on their farms.

Lilian is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. A loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her to meet the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and improve her family's quality of life. She also hopes to improve the conditions of her house.

Help this mother to accomplish all of her dreams with a loan!
