Kimberly's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped me buy equipment and grow to help kids learn the law and give them tools to make better decisions.

Kimberly's story

I retired on March 1, 2021, as a Probation and Parole Agent after 20 years with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. I continued to see young people being sentenced to prison or community supervision for making bad decisions or just simply not understanding that their behavior has consequences. My 20+ years of experience with the Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Agent gives me the knowledge to do just that. I teach and give kids the tools on how to make better decisions. Through workshops, curriculum and presentations, and guest speakers with life scenarios. I started my business because I want young people to understand that decisions that they make have consequences that could last a lifetime. Kids deserve to understand their rights. Teaching teens about the law gives them the tools for self-advocacy and to protect themselves. Exposing teens to the law in an educational setting, instead of experiencing it firsthand, can alleviate the fear of the police, a judge, and the courts. Offering legal education in schools would provide real-life situations and experiences to the students before they enter the real world. Kids need to hear how their actions can suffer real-life consequences.
