Benjamin's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a minority business owner survives Covid-19 while breaking generational curses.

Benjamin's story

Shortly after graduating from high school, I went to Fort Jackson, SC for basic training and then to Fort Lee, VA to be trained as a transportation specialist in the U.S. Army. After completing my military service and returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom, I realized that my expertise was in logistics and worked for several companies in Lufkin, TX. After gaining a better understanding of the business aspect of logistics, I realized that I was helping others become wealthy. I wanted to set my family on a pathway to financial freedom through entrepreneurship. My motivation to start and succeed in my trucking business stems from watching multiple family members become successful in logistics. I have a teenage daughter and a son that I believe will be better served learning how to be an entrepreneur than being an employee. Covid-19 taught me that being in control of your own economic stability is better than being dependent upon an employer to provide for your necessities. In the Black community, we have a generational curse of poverty and I want something better for my family. This is what keeps me waking up every day ready to grow Moor Lanes Logistics.
