A loan helped a single mom to buy farm inputs such as seeds and quality fertilizers to improve her crop farming.

Violet's story

Meet Violet (a single mom), 46, a Kiva borrower who was born in a bloodline of warriors. Violet has been supporting her family through mixed farming for the past few years. Thanks to her determination and desire for success, she has made her life meaningful.

The Covid-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat for the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainty and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is at the forefront of combating this pandemic through supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs in this difficult period.

Violet is seeking this loan to buy quality farming inputs so that she can improve her production, making more profit to support her family during this hard economic period.

Supporting her with a loan will be key in facing the financial crisis that has been brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
