Elizabeth's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, as well as a solar light.

Elizabeth's Group's story

Elizabeth, pictured above, has 7 children and is representing her group, formed by 19 farmers in Lugari District, Kenya. She joined One Acre Fund for the first time in 2012 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers.

With a portion of this loan, Elizabeth will not only purchase maize seeds and fertilizer for the coming harvesting season, but also a solar light. Receiving a solar light as part of her loan means that now she will be able to reduce the consumption of fuel in her household. Elizabeth plans to use the profits she gains this year to send her children to school.

In total Elizabeth’s Group will use the inputs received from this loan to plant a total of 11.25 acres of land. They will also receive a total of 8 solar lights.
