Noong Het 31 Group's story

Forty-year-old Chiem is a Thai ethnic woman who is married and has two children. She lives happily with her husband and children in a small stilt house in a remote village where agriculture is the main source of income of the villagers. To support her family, she works very hard at cultivation and animal husbandry with several activities such as growing rice and corn, breeding pigs, chickens and ducks.

Wishing to get more income to better support her children, Chiem has taken out her 11th loan from the Anh Chi Em program to buy a sow. She will raise and reproduce, then will sell the piglets. She hopes that the sow will grow fast and healthily and then help her reap a good income. She plans use the profit to reinvest in sow farming and pay tuition for her children.

Chiem dreams of a sufficient life for her family and a bright future for her children. In the picture, Chiem stands at the first from the right.
