Mary's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more charcoal and fish to sell.

Mary's story

This is 42-year-old Mary, who lives with her partner along with four children. They are schooling and live at home. Mary attended school up to 6th grade. Her partner works as a driver to earn extra income.

She deals in a business selling charcoal and fish. For the past 15 years, she has won a lot of customers to patronize her business. Her mother taught her how to sell and she got her startup capital from her partner.

Mary sells Monday through Saturday, 12 hours daily. She asked for a loan with BRAC Liberia, Kiva's field partner. She is seeking the loan to buy more charcoal and fish to sell to her good clients. Her love for her business continues to grow every day. Through her profits, she will be able to pay back the loan and increase her sales.

She is proud of her business because it helps to support her children. In the future, she wants to build houses. Mary says thanks for your support.
