Faridah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more stones for quarrying.

Faridah's story

Faridah is 35 years old and lives in the town of Mattuga in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has six children who are all currently in school.

For the past five years, Faridah has been working hard to manage her construction supply business, which manages stone quarrying. To help expand her business, she has requested a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more stones for quarrying, which will help her generate greater profits and improve on her family’s standard of living by providing them with enough food.

In the future, Faridah hopes she will be able to own a big shop that sells general merchandise.

Faridah is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). It primarily serves small group members like Faridah who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
