A loan helped to buy a buffalo.

Nua Ngam 32 Group's story

Nang, 45, is an ethnic minority woman who lost husband six years ago. Now she is living with her son and daughter-in-law in a small stilt house in remote village of Vietnam's Northwest mountains.

In Nang's family, her son and daughter-in-law make the main income. Nang also supports her children in some agricultural activities such as growing rice, corn, cassava and raising chickens, ducks, pigs, cows and buffalo. Wishing to expand the breeding model to get more income, Nang decided to take a loan from Anh Chi Em program to buy a buffalo. This is her seventh loan cycle with Anh Chi Em. Nang shares that she will take advantage of the grass available around the house as a buffalo food, very convenient. She believes with 10 years experience in buffalo raising together with agricultural support from Anh Chi Em program, this investment will be as successful as the previous one.

Nang hopes her family's economy is growing and the children are always healthy. In the picture, she stands first from the far right.
