Josefa Monserrate's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy various colors of wool, and fish.

Josefa Monserrate's story

Josefa Monserrate and her family live in Montecristi, which is known for its handicrafts made of toquilla straw, mimbre, piquigua, and wood; and fine hats make of toquilla straw, known worldwide as “Panamá Hats”. Josefa Moserrate and her husband work selling fish by the pound or whole, small and large. In her house, she sells by the pound or the fish, while her husband makes sales and deliveries in his small truck. They sell on credit and collect weekly.

She also works making baby clothing, knitted in wool. These clients place orders in advance and choose the colors as needed.

The social isolation at first left her without work due to fear of contagion and various restrictions that kept them from going out to sell. Now she is following bio-security protocols.

This loan is to buy wool in various colors, and fish, to continue supplying her customers. Her dream is to have a fish store in her house, and that her family will have good health.
