Katiene Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs to work her field and then sell the fruit and vegetables.

Katiene Group's story

Diaratou, a 54-year-old Malian, has been a farmer for 35 years, growing chilli, groundnuts and sweet peas. She nurses the chillies in the garden before transplanting them to the field.

Living in Mali, she is married and has four children, two girls and two boys. Her children are aged from 12 years to 17 years, and one girl attends school. Her husband works as a farmer for a living.

Diaratou did not go to school; she borrows from RMCR to buy more agricultural inputs (fertiliser, herbicide, and insecticide) in order to increase her productivity. Diaratou sells her groundnuts and peppers in bulk in her village.

With the financial support of RMCR, she hopes to become a major producer of chilli and groundnuts to better support her children. The abundance of products in the area leads to a drop in the selling price, which is one of the obstacles she faces. Diaratou has a projected monthly profit of 22,000 CFA francs.
