Ang Nua 16 Group's story

Tuan is a 35-year-old Thai ethnic woman living in the Northwest mountain of Vietnam. She is married and lives with two children in a small stilt house. Her son studies in the last grade of secondary school, while her daughter studies in primary school.

Tuan and her husband make the main income for their family. Her husband is working as construction worker in Ha Noi - the capital of Vietnam. Tuan does business in their hometown and takes care of the two children. Like other villagers, Tuan works hard at many agricultural activities such as growing rice, coffee and raising chickens, pigs, cows and fish.

Tuan hopes to get more income from her coffee farm so she wishes to buy fertilizer for her coffee plants. She decided to take a loan from Anh Chi Em program. She also plans to use the income from this investment to expand her pig raising activity.

Tuan wishes her children could have bright futures with good jobs. In the picture, she stands first from the right.
