Isatu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 42-year-old Isatu from Sierra Leone's Aberdeen branch. Isatu is married with three children between the ages of 10 and 23 years old; one of the children is attending school.

Isatu runs a retail business and sells rice per bag along with other assorted items. She has been in this business for 12 years now, and she started this business to care for herself and support her family. Isatu's other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Isatu has requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more rice and other assorted items to increase her business. Isatu says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family's welfare. In the future, Isatu would like to grow her business to a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
