Benson's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cost-efficient maize seeds and fertilizer for the coming harvesting season.

Benson's Group's story

Pictured above is Benson, who, as a group leader, is representing his group formed by 18 farmers in Teso District, Kenya. He is a father to seven children and is known by his community as a very hardworking individual.

Initially, Benson joined One Acre Fund in 2013 because he wanted to get the best-quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds. Since he joined the program he says that his life has improved, especially because he has been able to consistently feed his family. With the profits from the coming harvesting season, Benson plans to send his children to school.

Among the 18 farmers in Benson's Group, a total of 6.25 acres of land will be planted using the maize seeds and fertilizer received with the loan. Additionally, some of the farmers in the group will be purchasing a solar light, so with this loan, the group will also receive one solar light.
