Munira's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy dairy cows in order to increase her milk sales volume.

Munira's story

This lovely woman is Munira. She is 44 years old and married, with grown children. Munira has a secondary education, and is outgoing and kindhearted by nature. She has been raising livestock and growing crops since 2000, and this is her main contribution to the family income. Thanks to Munira's hard work and her husband's help around the farm, it presently consists of three cows, 17 sheep, and a 3.2-hectare plot of irrigated land on which she grows organic beans.

Munira has a contract to deliver organic milk to a local plant, where it is processed into dairy products. This permits her to put money back into her business on an ongoing basis. After learning that she could obtain a loan from Bai Tushum Bank, using as collateral the contract for future deliveries under a Value-Added-Chain arrangement, Munira has applied for a loan of 120,000 som (KGS), to buy dairy cows. Her goal in this is to increase her milk sales. The dairy plant's payments for the milk will be deposited directly into Munira's bank account, and the loan payments will be automatically deducted. The income generated by this loan will allow her to develop her farm going forward and finish the building of a house.
