Virjelina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy inventory for her small convenience store.

Virjelina's story

Virjelina is a proactive entrepreneur from the rural indigenous community of Puerto Lara, which is located in a region that has been historically excluded from basic financial services. She runs a small convenience store in her community. She sells snacks, food, grains, cleaning products, phone cards, gas tanks, fruits, and other products that are in high demand in Puerto Lara. This activity has provided for her and her family for over five years.

Today, Virjelina is requesting her first Kiva loan to buy inventory for her small store so that she can recover her business from the post-pandemic economic crisis. With the profits generated from her store, she is aiming to build a kitchen for her house.

Thank you for supporting women-owned businesses in the indigenous territories of Panama!
