Yolandita's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a fridge and reopen a refreshment store.

Yolandita's story

Yolandita is a young indigenous artisan from the Embera community of Ipeti Embera, East Panama.

From an early age, she's been a proactive entrepreneur who's worked in agriculture, traditional artcraft-making and also run a small store that sells refreshments in her community. Yolandita is the newest member of the local community-owned bank and plays a key role in the growth of women-led initiatives in her community.

Her fridge broke down two months ago, so she's asking for her first Kiva loan to buy a fridge to keep cold beverages cool and also a sound system to attract clients to her refreshment store. Yolandita is married, has two children, and her dream is to succeed as an entrepreneur to be a role model for other girls in her indigenous community.

Thank you for supporting women-led enterprises in the indigenous territories of Panama.
