Margarida's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a big tractor to help expand her veggies production area.

Margarida's story

Margarida is a 56-year-old Mozambican woman. She lives in Moamba, Maputo Province, where she also runs her vegetable production business.

She is a brave woman who has been operating in agriculture for about 20 years regardless of the challenges it offers. She started producing veggies in a non-protected environment, but thanks to her first Kiva loan she bought seven greenhouses, which allowed her to produce good vegetables the whole year round in a protected environment.

Margarida is a resilient farmer par excellence. She faced many storms and cyclones, heat seasons and irregular rains, but she remained focused on her dream and business.

Regardless all the challenges climate changes can cause to agriculture, Margarida trusts in the land as the source of food and also income. This is why she is keen to expand her area of production.

Considering the characteristic of the soil in her farm, Margarida needs to acquire a big tractor to achieve a great result. Aiming to expand her veggies production area, she is requesting her third Kiva loan to buy a big tractor.
